One of the most advanced tools we offer is Optomap Retinal Imaging a quick, painless, and highly detailed scan of the back of your eye (the retina).

​​​​​​​Optomap allows us to include a full retinal evaluation as part of your routine exam without the downtime and light sensitivity that dilation can cause. The image will be reviewed with you during your exam, so you can see exactly what we see and better understand your eye health.

What Is Optomap®?

Optomap is a revolutionary digital imaging technology that captures a 200-degree, ultra-widefield image of the retina in a single shot without the need for pupil dilation in most cases. This is significantly wider than traditional retinal imaging, which typically only captures 45 degrees of the retina. That is a difference in seeing about 10- 15% of the eye to 82% of the eye. This comprehensive view allows us to detect and monitor early signs of a wide range of eye conditions, often before symptoms appear.
